GMDA Plans Another Flyover to Decongest Dwarka Expressway-Manesar Corridor
Gurugram’s rapid growth continues to put pressure on its road network. As residential sectors expand and industrial activity increases, traffic congestion has become a daily challenge. Addressing this issue, the Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) has proposed another flyover on the multi-utility corridor connecting Dwarka Expressway to Manesar.
This new proposal comes in addition to the already approved flyover at Dadi Sati Chowk. Together, these projects aim to significantly improve traffic flow and reduce congestion across one of the busiest stretches in New Gurugram.
Rising Traffic Pressure Calls for Immediate Action

Therefore, GMDA has adopted a dual-flyover strategy. Instead of solving congestion at one point, the authority plans to ease traffic across the entire stretch.

Project Details and Planned Development
GMDA has already started preparing for the execution phase. Officials will conduct a feasibility study and prepare a detailed project report (DPR) within the next three months. Once completed, the authority will review and approve the proposal.
At the same time, progress on the Dadi Sati Chowk flyover continues steadily. Authorities plan to float its tender soon, which marks a major step toward construction.
The Dadi Sati project includes a six-lane flyover stretching approximately 900 meters. Additionally, it will feature an underpass on Rampura Road. Engineers will also construct retaining walls on both sides to support future expansion.

Traffic surveys conducted by GMDA highlight the urgency of these projects. Around 9,700 vehicles pass through Dadi Sati Chowk during peak hours, specifically between 8–10 AM and 5–8 PM.
According to Indian Road Safety norms, any intersection handling more than 7,500 vehicles per hour requires grade separation, such as a flyover or underpass.
Since the current numbers exceed this limit, congestion will only increase without intervention. Moreover, new residential developments in nearby sectors continue to add more vehicles to the road.

Local residents have welcomed the proposed developments. Many believe that the two flyovers will ease congestion across the entire stretch, especially between Dwarka Expressway and Manesar.
However, some residents have pointed out an additional concern. A large portion of traffic on this route heads toward Manesar. Because of this, they believe that removing the Kherki Daula toll plaza could further reduce congestion.
