Tesla Rolls into Gurgaon – Mysteriously, But Fearlessly
Tesla of Elon Musk is finally moving towards putting wheels on the ground in Gurgaon. Yes, it’s happening.
The electric vehicle behemoth has stealthily acquired a 33,475 sq ft ground floor office at Orchid Business Park, on Sohna Road. This emerged through a real estate analytics firm CRE Matrix blog post.
Not a Showroom – It’s Everything
It’s not a fancy showroom or some charging stations. It’s a mixed-use facility-a service center, delivery center, and a storehouse for retail all combined. Intended to cater to the thriving EV market in Delhi-NCR.
The lease is an extended one nine years with a three year lock in period, which essentially means Tesla’s not doing this as a test run. They’ve signed up on July 28 for ₹40.17 lakh per month as rent.
The rate increases by 4.75% annually, and they’ve already lost ₹20.69 lakh on stamp duty and a substantial ₹2.41 crore as security. And they’ve reserved 51 parking spaces-because hello, where do you park fancy EVs ?
Tesla’s India Footprint Is Growing Fast
And Gurgaon isn’t Tesla’s first Indian pit stop. Back in May, they quietly leased a 24,000 sq ft warehouse space in Mumbai’s Kurla (West), shelling out ₹37.5 lakh a month.
Their very first showroom-a compact 4,000 sq ft space-opened at Mumbai’s plush Bandra Kurla Complex. Fast forward to August 11, and they unveiled their second showroom at Worldmark 3 in Delhi’s Aerocity. Slowly but steadily, Tesla’s planting its flag.
What’s the Larger Picture ?
Honestly, it’s not only real estate. Tesla’s not dipping their toes in there-they’re making an investment. May be preparing for either higher volumes of imports or even local manufacturing in the future.
With India leading the charge for EVs and providing improved infrastructure, Tesla appears ready to take the plunge.
The Model Y: First In Line
Their Indian odyssey kicks off with the Model Y SUV international top-seller. But for the moment, it is only possible to register the vehicle in Delhi, Gurgaon, and Mumbai.
Delhi has the RWD variant tagged at ₹61.06 lakh, with a claimed range of 500 km and a top speed of 201 km/hr. The long-range model goes to 622 km and is priced at ₹69.14 lakh. Gurgaon’s prices are slightly higher ₹66.76 lakh for the standard variant and ₹75.61 lakh for the long-range.
Mumbai ties with Delhi on the long-distance price, but its base model puts it slightly above.

⚡ Where Will You Charge It ?
And yes, they’ve got charging planned too. Only Mumbai and Delhi-NCR get selected for the time being. In NCR, the plan’s quite obvious-Tesla’s building four stations: two in Delhi (Saket and Aerocity), one on Golf Course Road in Gurgaon, and one in Noida.
Tesla’s senior regional director Isabel Fan confirmed these locations will host 16 superchargers and 15 destination chargers-just enough to get Model Ys rolling.
Last Word
Tesla’s not feeling the waters anymore. They’re diving in-with showrooms, warehouses, chargers, and a strategy that appears very long-term. India could well be the next great electric playground, and Tesla appears to be set to drive it.
