A Major Infrastructure Boost for Manesar
Manesar is about to witness a significant road infrastructure upgrade. The Municipal Corporation of Manesar (MCM) has launched a large-scale project to recarpet and revamp 68.3 kilometres of roads across the region. Authorities have allocated ₹93 crore for the project, which covers 36 road stretches under the corporation’s jurisdiction.
This initiative aims to improve road quality, strengthen connectivity between villages and urban sectors, and enhance daily commuting conditions for thousands of residents. Work on several stretches has already started, and officials expect completion by the end of this year.
As Gurugram and its surrounding areas continue to expand rapidly, better infrastructure becomes essential. Therefore, this road upgrade could play a crucial role in improving mobility and supporting the region’s overall development.
What the Road Revamp Project Includes
The project focuses on much more than simple road resurfacing. MCM has designed the initiative as a comprehensive infrastructure upgrade.
The key components include:
- Recarpeting damaged and worn-out road surfaces
- Repairing and constructing footpaths and pavements
- Maintaining and developing green belts along roads
- Improving safety and accessibility for commuters
Additionally, the green belt maintenance plan will cover approximately 10 kilometres of road stretches. Plantation drives will also take place along several routes to improve the area’s environmental balance.
Officials also confirmed that plantation work will take place along 12 kilometres of roads managed by MCM, while another 8 kilometres will fall under HSIIDC’s jurisdiction.
This combined approach ensures that the project improves both infrastructure quality and urban aesthetics.
Key Roads Covered in the Project
The revamp project targets several important connectivity routes that link villages, residential sectors, and industrial zones.
Some of the major roads included in the plan are:
- Wazirpur Road on Gurugram–Pataudi Road
- Gurugram to Pataudi Road via Dhani Shagram
- Manesar Road to Kasan Puran Bhagat Mandir
- Gurugram–Pataudi Road to Bamroli
- Gurugram–Pataudi Road to Meoka
- Kherki Daula to Sihi, Sikanderpur and Badha
- Gurugram–Pataudi Road to Garhi Harsaru
- Garhi Harsaru to Tuglakpur
These roads play a vital role in connecting urban sectors, nearby villages, and industrial areas. Therefore, the upgrade will improve daily travel for residents, employees, and transport vehicles.
Better road infrastructure will also reduce travel time and improve traffic flow across Manesar.
Project Status and Progress
MCM officials have already started the groundwork. Authorities recently approved 19 project estimates, while several others received clearance earlier.
However, one final estimate still awaits approval from the Finance and Contract Committee (F&CC).
According to Hitendra Sharma, Joint Commissioner of MCM, the project has already moved forward on some stretches.
So far, authorities have completed around 1.17 kilometres of road revamp work. As approvals continue for the remaining estimates, contractors will accelerate construction activities across additional stretches.
Officials expect the project to gain strong momentum over the coming months.
Green Belts and Sustainable Road Development
Apart from improving road surfaces, MCM has also focused on creating greener corridors across Manesar.
The project includes plantation and maintenance work along road green belts, which will help improve air quality and urban aesthetics.
Authorities are coordinating with GMDA and other government agencies to ensure that infrastructure upgrades happen in a planned and integrated manner.

Residents Welcome the Move but Raise Concerns
Many residents have welcomed the announcement of the road recarpeting project. However, they also highlighted the poor condition of several existing roads.
Santosh Kumar, a resident of Pareen Lakshmi in Sector 99A, shared his concerns regarding the current situation.
He explained that many roads connecting nearby villages suffer from potholes, uneven surfaces, and damaged patches. As a result, commuters often struggle with daily travel challenges.
During the monsoon season, the situation becomes even worse. Waterlogging and broken roads slow down traffic and damage vehicles.
Therefore, residents hope that authorities will complete the project efficiently and without delays.
Infrastructure Growth Boosts Real Estate Confidence
Sanjeev Singh, Managing Director of SKJ Landbase , believes that infrastructure improvements significantly impact regional growth.
He said:
